The Sultan Qaboos Mosque is inspired by traditional Islamic architecture while also incorporating modern elements. The mosque is constructed of local materials such as marble, limestone, and sandstone. The main prayer hall is the mosque’s focal point and can hold up to 2,500 worshippers at once. There is also a beautiful courtyard, a library, and an auditorium at the mosque. The mosque’s dome, made of 14,000 tons of marble, is one of its most striking features. The dome is the world’s largest, measuring 50 meters in diameter and weighing more than 4,000 tons. The mosque also has four minarets, each 90 meters tall and representing one of the four Islamic schools of thought.
