Mirbat is Salalah’s diving base, about an hour’s drive along the coast, known for clear water, coral reefs, and the China Wreck, a shipwreck that now acts as an artificial reef teeming with fish. It’s a great spot for both first-time divers and certified divers looking for something a bit different, with dive sites suited to all levels. Underwater, you can expect to encounter turtles, rays, moray eels, reef fish in large schools, and depending on the season, larger species passing through.
